Health Matters!

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Mental health

Mental health is a concept that refers to a human individual's emotional and psychological well-being.Merriam-Webster defines mental health as "A state of emotional and psychological well-being in which an individual is able to use his or her cognitive and emotional capabilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life."

Being Mentally healthy is very important. This is because your mental health depends on your emotional, physical and social well being.

Lets talk about our emotional well being...

The first step to having a healthy mental mind is to know who you are. This is where Temperaments show up. We are all made up of different temperaments, that is why we have a group of people with different kinds of interests. Knowing the strengths and weakness of your temperaments will help you to manage yourself and also to relate to and understand others well.

The second step is to love yourself. You have to be able to appreciate yourself and be able to understand who you are. My friend, Blaco always says that "for one to appreciate life, he has to appreciate himself." I think its an interesting quote. When you love yourself, you value yourself and that makes others value you too. This is what I like to describe as a "great self esteem."

The third is to be able to control your emotions. You should not let hurtful memories prevent you from taking a risk or trying something new. consider a baby learning how to walk, he keeps on falling and sometimes hurting himself, if the pain stops him from continuing, he'll never learn how to walk for the rest of his life. That would be a pity, won't it? Instead, you should learn to deal with any hurtful memory before it turns worse.

When you are able to do these, your mind becomes "stable" and this is what I mean by a good emotional mental health.
